Independence Day celebration to rank among America’s top 20 fireworks programs featuring spectacular Grucci fireworks, a patriotic program, musical performances, food and more

Friday, July 4, 2008 5 – 10 P.M.

The family-friendly event will feature a state-of-the-art national-class fireworks show that will be the largest in North Texas and will rank as one of America’s top 20 Fourth of July fireworks shows! Also planned is a patriotic program featuring the Dallas Wind Symphony, free admission to all the museums, musical performances and plenty of Fourth of July food favorites!

Fireworks by Grucci (who have produced some of the world’s most unforgettable fireworks programs for the Olympic Games, Statue of Liberty Centennial, and New Year’s Eve Celebrations in New York City) will be synchronized to choreographed music with live broadcast on WRR 101.1 FM. Viewing areas with sound will be located in the park along the Esplanade, Lagoon, Cotton Bowl Plaza and Big Tex Circle. Attendees are invited to bring in lawn chairs and blankets. Other activities include a special hour-long patriotic program at 8:15 p.m. featuring a concert by the Dallas Wind Symphony outside the Hall of State, plus special programming and events at the various Fair Park museums (free admission to museums from 5 – 8 p.m.). The City of Dallas’ Office of Cultural Affairs Neighborhood Touring Program will feature musical artists performing adjacent to each museum from 5 – 8 p.m. The Texas Skyway Gondola ride will be running.
